Hello, I’m Chris. I’m a Personal Trainer based at the North Lakes Hotel Spa.
I have worked in health and fitness for over 20 years but took a break to spend more time with my young daughter, and found myself in a desk based job. I noticed my health and fitness decline, so I decided to get back into the industry by training as a Body Pump and GRIT instructor, both of which I’m now qualified to advanced level in. I’d reconnected with the thing I was passionate about – seeing the positive impact exercise can have on both physical and mental health.
My advanced qualifications in these two classes gave me the technical skills and knowledge I needed to help people make positive changes. I soon realised I wanted to go even further, and made the decision to become a personal trainer, helping people find their love of being active and using my passion for strength training to impact on someone’s specific goals.
My knowledge is advanced, but I’d still say it’s a work in progress! I always want to learn more, and I’m looking forward to doing more advanced study in nutrition. I love what I do, so it’s not difficult to motivate myself to do more.
